Job PurposeDesigns and architect’s database solutions. Triage at level 3 to find out solutions of medium very complex issues. Act as SME for the application supports to provide in depth database needs of databases from design, performance, deployment. Automate any mundane tasks. Bring new skills and technology to help supporting applications uses latest and greatest design and features. Exposure to any of cloud database technologies and free RDBMS/No-SQL experience is an added advantage. Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration.ResponsibilitiesDesigns and architect’s database solutions.Optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance, and cost.Performs data analysis to provide management with timely and accurate information and predict future requirements.Ensures service level agreements are met for internal and external clients.Provide strategic engineering solutions to drive technological improvementsTake ownership of projects to ensure successful implementation including Tech-Stack upgrade effortsFoster relationship and act as a technical liaison between the DBA Team and the Lines of BusinessMonitors database performance, availability, and capacity.Participates in continuous business process redesign to improve internal operations.Performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters and prototype designs against logical data models, and defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirementsOptimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and costEnsures service level agreements are met for internal and external clientsProvides status reports that detail issues for escalation to managementPerforms configuration, scripting, analysis, installation, monitoring, administration and tuning for database management systemsPerform troubleshoot Service broker queues, messages flow, and stuck messages flow.Perform BizTalk SQL server support and SME to support messages SLA.Performs data analysis to provide management with timely and accurate information and predict future requirementsDevelops, implements and tests database backup and recovery policies and procedures.Creates and maintains documentation for database policies, procedures, and processes.Performs/schedules routine maintenance on databases to keep them running at peak performance.Monitors database performance, availability, and capacityReview database storage utilization to ensure proper whitespace allocationsReview and develop trend analysis for incident remediation and prevention Participates in continuous business process redesign to improve internal operationsInterfaces with user departments remotely and on-site to assist in the implementation of work requests and provide operational supportTroubleshoots issues and recommends solutionsResearch and evaluate new RDBMS for possible implementationPerforms other duties as requiredKnowledge and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience9+ years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment.Required to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotationExpert level knowledge of SQL Server database management systems (2012, 2014, 2017, & 2019 and 2022 [SQL 2025 is a plus]) Expert level knowledge SQL performance and tuningExpert level knowledge of Microsoft Distributed Availability Group (DAG), Always-On Availability Groups in local and geographically dispersed data centersExtensive knowledge of task automationStrong database design and analysis skillsExpert level Knowledge of backup and recovery operations for database management systemsExpert level Knowledge of database encryption such as Always Encrypted, Protegrity, TDE, and TLSExpert level Knowledge of OS, storage, and network layers for troubleshooting purposesExpert level Knowledge of relational database concepts and terminologyAbility to monitor and tune databases and instancesAbility to maintain and monitor availability, security, and integrity of databasesAbility to focus on production and customer needs and deliverablesAbility to adapt to the use of new software tools as they are acquired or adopted within ITStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust be self-motivated, a team player, and have a strong track record in customer satisfactionDemonstrated experience with successful system and project implementationsExperience with Service Broker and BizTalk SQL Server integrationFamiliarity with Mainframe flat file ingestion architecture and cross-platform data workflowsFamiliarity with DB2 to SQL Server migrationPreferred Knowledge and ExperienceKnowledge of Scripting and AutomationKnowledge of Microsoft Azure RDBMSKnowledge of OLA Hallengren maintenance plansStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervisionAbility to learn and apply new skills in a constantly changing technical environmentKnowledge of leveraging AI for SQL server admin and support.#LI-JW1 Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
